So in the USA we celebrate Halloween. It is one of the strangest holidays ever because everyone gets into the spooky holiday by dressing up as something funny, scary or just silly. However, it is also known as a time of witches, ghouls, goblins, and ghosts so that’s why I’ve made my Boo post!!!
These tutorials will be great spooky fun so be sure to watch them all…

hey guys welcome back today I’m going to show you how you can make some miniature
0:09
tombstones for either a graveyard or for halloween and the very first thing you
0:14
need to do is download this template and cut these out from off on my website
0:18
they look kind of like this or like that either way just cut them out and once
0:25
you have that done then you’re going to trace them
0:28
alright so once you have the temp the dentals cutout you want to go ahead and
0:32
lay them on top of the styrofoam or cardboard you can use cardboard to I
0:39
like to line them up with the bottom like this matching it to where it’s nice
0:46
and even across the bottom that we already have a straight edge with the
0:48
factory cut trace it and then you want to go ahead and cut it out now I
0:54
actually cut this one out using the bandsaw however I did cut them out using
1:00
one of the longer box nice or box knives so you can do that too not as neat when
1:09
you use the box night but it works
1:15
this is another one that i did with the box night
1:20
ok so this was a pretty tough one so i’m going to go ahead and cut that out first
1:25
and i’ll show you how I’m gonna do it
1:38
yeah
1:52
yeah
1:58
opening
1:59
yeah
4:50
no way to do
4:51
labored breathing
5:03
alright so now you just want to take a light piece of sandpaper or a nail file
5:09
and follow the rough edges just a little bit you don’t need a lot cuz we’re going
5:12
to actually finish it up with putting some ground on it just basically just
5:16
get like the little furry parts off and you might just be able to brush them off
5:20
depending on how loose they are ok so here is one here and if you want me to
5:30
wear it has like broken parts on it easiest way to do that is the either use
5:34
a knife on a ball tool or you can kind of chip it with the soul
5:51
in it
6:06
you
6:09
you going to do it
6:12
there’s chips and also you want to make sure that the bottoms are standard flat
6:26
the end
6:40
yeah
6:43
now if you don’t have electric sander that’s fine you don’t need one just get
6:48
a piece of sandpaper lay flat on a flat surface and go back and forth on it like
6:52
that and it will stand flat that way as well
6:55
ok so now that you have them all cut out i’m going to show you how we can make
6:59
them a black stone the very first thing you need to do is get yourself some
7:04
non-seeing grout and you’re going to need to mix them in a bowl with some
7:11
water so i’m doing i’m just doing a little bit at a time because i don’t
7:23
want super super thick and you can always add more water if it’s too runny
7:31
or a toothpick just kind of mix it all in
7:40
i would not recommend using something that you eat out of to do this using
7:49
things that are using for your actual food
7:59
just keep mixing it up and stern it and I’ll be right back
8:14
alright so once you have it should be kind of like up puddin consistency
8:20
you’re going to set it on the side and then you’re going to take a brush and
8:25
old brush and you’re just going to paint it won the styrofoam cutouts just paint
8:33
it lightly over top of it
8:42
and you want to do this to all of the ones that you have
8:50
it doesn’t matter which way you go the direction if it’s the same layer the
8:55
opposite way either way because we’re going to kind of brush it afterwards in
9:00
the paint again but the idea is to get it good and covered that way we go to
9:09
paint it it will actually have something for the pain to stick to i would use a
9:18
brush that you’re not going to be using for painting also make sure that you’re
9:24
doing that because it may not come out of your grip I’m out of your brush even
9:30
though it is nonsense and it still may not come out completely
9:34
okay so I’m gonna let that dry before i do the back of that you can always go
9:40
over and give another coat one thing you do want to avoid is seeing the lobby
9:46
lines so you want to try and get those off the best that you can
9:56
you want to do that to all of them and I’ll be right back
10:01
alright so now would be the time that if you want to make any with cracks in it
10:06
like a broken tombstone to go ahead and kind of chiseled away with your box
10:11
knife or with something sharp that you can poke it off there and then you just
10:17
kind of want to apply the non sanded grout right over top of it
10:32
see how it gets right in there kinda looks like it’s broken there a little
10:37
bit you want to continue that and then do that to any of the ones that you want
10:42
to look broken you’re making an old graveyard or tombstones and that’s
10:53
something that you’re going to want to have it as then you want to do that if
11:01
you don’t want a broken then you don’t have to either
11:09
ok so once it starts to dry you want to go ahead and give it another coat if you
11:15
can see through it and you can see the star of him below it just give it
11:19
another quick coding
12:11
okay one thing i did forget the tell you if you want to have names on it you need
12:16
to put them in there before you actually start putting the ground on there
12:21
because once with the ground on there you’re not going to be able to do that
12:23
and all the cracks and everything that you want in your tombstone you need to
12:30
do before you put the crowd as well and i just use the ball tool the very very
12:34
small one and you can use a doll pencil or a fine pen case i want to show you
12:42
this real quick like you see how this is really really sloppy and it looks like
12:48
really nasty-looking that is good because when you put the ground on it
12:53
the ground will fit in there and then it’ll look more realistic as opposed to
12:59
it actually just being one straight line and if it’s too much don’t worry about
13:07
it because you can always go back and add thicker ground to fill in where you
13:14
might have needed to thick just mix up a batch of thicker ground but you see how
13:21
that’s starting to look like tombstone cracks can like see I just kinda just
13:31
did that i can fill it in if I want but I don’t want to some take that back out
13:39
and the names make sure you get really thin over the names because otherwise
13:45
you’re grounded up and then you won’t be able to tell that there was a name there
13:49
to start with
14:06
just want to get a little bit down in there just on each warm
14:33
yeah
14:36
you’ll see the transformation right before your eyes now you can use great
14:40
route if you want and it’ll save you and the painting process a little bit but i
14:47
wanted the darker ground because 1i already had it from when I did the
14:50
mountain and to when you go into the deeper cracks I wanted it to be darker
14:55
when I paint it that way the darkness will show up in the darker or in the
15:01
inside of the cracks a little bit better
15:08
remember don’t fill in the name or the date if you have a date on yours and
15:17
again i just used bulb tool but you can use a pen for that and when you cut out
15:25
your tombstone it’s okay if it’s a little rocky looking around the edges I
15:29
mean you do want to sand it a little bit and you can use a nail file to do that
15:32
but it’s okay if it looks a little bit rocky because it’s a rock basically
15:39
tombstones are usually made of very durable material like slate or marble
15:47
some sort of stone so it’s okay if it looks a little bumpy
15:59
alright so i’m going to use a pen and i’m going to show you the technique i
16:04
was just talking about while that’s drying you can do this with the ball
16:10
tool as well you just kind of want to just go and make your little cracks and
16:16
if you want to take your pen and kind of just pull some of that away you can do
16:24
that too
16:39
just like that and then you can write the name on there so no we’ll just say
16:47
Mary
17:03
and then
17:33
the ball tool works better because you can get it in a little bit deeper
17:37
without actually damaging the styrofoam and the process but you can work with it
17:45
with a pen you just have to go over a couple of times
18:11
we’ll call her Mary boo
18:44
alright so now we’re going to go ahead and paint that with some grout and
18:52
you’ll be able to see how that transforms
19:12
ok
19:28
ok
19:36
ok
19:44
yeah
19:53
yeah
20:04
yeah
20:07
yeah
20:11
all right finish painting it and then we’ll let that dry as well
20:20
okay so they’re all still drying and another thing i want to show you is this
20:25
is like little beads that you can get that look like skulls and then there’s
20:35
he’s really creepy looking rings that they sell you can cut them off and you
20:40
can glue them one here put a little bit of drought over top of them before you
20:47
spray paint them and then they look like they’re stone as well alright
20:52
ok so now they’ve been granted they need to dry as well but you can see how gives
20:59
the tombstone a whole another piece of character kind of touch-up where I see
21:09
some pink there but ya see that now it’s got a little bit more character to it
21:17
and then another thing you can do is like you can kind of draw in objects if
21:23
you like and you know glue that and to do the ring here all I did was cut this
21:30
one an angle you can see part of its left here and I just inserted in there
21:38
with some glue so but hold and that was that
21:42
right now i’m going to go ahead and spray paint these and i’m going to be
21:46
using a couple kind of paints it’s been hammered rest only him and some primer
21:53
and then I’ll also touch him up with some acrylic right I’ll be back okay so
22:03
now i’m going to show you how to apply the acrylic i actually did the primer
22:07
which was a flat gray and then I did that metallic like multicolored gray and
22:15
when I did that I actually just missed it when they’re just to hit a couple
22:20
spots so you could still see that flat in between there and I even left some of
22:24
the brown grout showing in some areas so it looks
22:27
aged and now what I’ve done is I’ve added some water and some acrylic into a
22:33
bowl or into a saucer rather and i watered it down a lot like lots and lots
22:42
of water in there right then I’m going to take that watered-down acrylic and
22:49
i’m going to just kind of brush it in the crevices
23:12
ok then you want to kind of plot it like that to get the bulk of it off and then
23:21
you want to go in a different location and kind of go around and hit that be
23:32
sure to get a lot inside of where the lettering is that way it helps it on
23:38
stand out a little bit more
23:54
kind of mixing a little bit of gray with the black just to kind of give it an
24:03
aged teams journal then taking that napkin and i’m plotting it not rubbing
24:12
it a lot
24:27
yeah
24:29
yeah
24:41
it around
24:50
yeah
24:54
yeah
25:05
do you want to do the same thing on the top but you don’t want to cover every
25:21
where you just kind of want to hit and miss some spots so that when you bought
25:26
it off it kind of looks a little bit like it
25:29
I’m age
25:51
yeah
26:10
then you want to repeat the process on the back i’m working with gray and black
26:28
both watered down and i’m using different thicknesses of consistency
26:36
some of it is darker and some of it is lighter but when i add the parts with a
26:42
lot of water and it is close to a little bit it’ll stick a little bit more in
26:47
different areas you can do this in different directions to because when you
26:58
blot it’ll blend a little bit ok so now i’m going to show you what this one this
27:11
one’s got a little bit more cracks in it
27:13
I’m going to get some dark and i’m going to lead it into the water part of the
27:19
paint gonna go right up in here
27:28
I just want to get inside of those cracks the best I can
27:42
no I’m adding more water
28:10
ok now you want to take it and make sure you got it again the darkness should’ve
28:16
stayed and side thats dark in there now i’m going to go ahead and do the same
28:22
thing to the top a little bit of that glob of paint right there
28:29
lead it into the water
28:41
and then add that water down acrylic and you can seal this with a flat or gloss
28:48
either way of Mod Podge if you like or you can just leave it like it is
28:55
you don’t plan on having egg being used by like a child or whatever that’s
29:02
age-appropriate then that’s fine i don’t recommend it for small children now you
29:13
don’t want a child playing with this that’s going to put it in their mouth or
29:16
anything like that
29:26
yeah
29:52
yeah
29:56
yeah
30:55
you do want to make sure you get some darks and some lights in there when
30:59
you’re blending it that way it does look like a actual tombstone
31:05
alright once you have all that done then you want to again plot it and then there
31:15
that is see the two totally different looks that you can get there from that
31:22
and then this one is one of the ones that we added the little thing to and
31:27
these sticks will come off i just did that so that when they were drying I had
31:32
somewhere to stick them standing up you can stick them in floral foam or another
31:36
piece of styrofoam or whatever but that’s it i’m going to go ahead and
31:41
paint the rest of them and i will post the photos of the finished ones along
31:47
with the next step when I’m actually making the graveyard on my website and
31:52
on my facebook page so make sure that you like and subscribe below so that you
